Toddler Care in
Morris County, NJ

18 Months - 3 Years

The toddler years are full of many exciting changes and developments! This is when children begin discovering their independence, finding their voices, and learning how to interact with the world around them. This stage also brings big emotions and lots of curiosity. At Learning Tree Academy, we have developed a toddler program designed to support children in building lifelong skills through consistent routines and interactive activities.

Play-Based and Hands-On Learning

In our toddler room, we use The Creative Curriculum®, a nationally recognized, research-based program that supports the development of the whole child. This curriculum sparks children’s curiosity through engaging, sensory-rich play that’s specifically designed for this age group. Every part of the day is treated as a learning opportunity, helping toddlers develop the following skills:

  • Social-Emotional Development through group play and interactions
  • Physical Development through movement, music, and play
  • Cognitive Development through practicing shapes, colors, numbers, and problem-solving
  • Language and Communication Development through stories, songs, and vocabulary games

Our teachers use hands-on learning materials such as books, art supplies, music, sensory activities, and more to bring learning to life in a way that feels natural. We also emphasize the importance of physical development. When the weather permits, children get to enjoy playtime in a spacious, fenced yard, but when the weather doesn’t let us go outside, they get to enjoy their indoor “toddlercises”.

Developing Exciting Independence and Social Skills

In the toddler room, we also teach table and social manners. As children develop their social and play skills with their friends, we focus on “sharing” and “caring” as key words, along with the magic words “please” and “thank you”. We also start working on letter, number, and shape recognition, often with special projects designed to reinforce their early learning.

Potty training is a key independent skill we spend a lot of time on in the toddler classroom. Each child has a different reaction and learning pace when it comes to potty training, which is why we work closely with families to maintain consistency between home and school.

Stay Connected with the Procare App

At Learning Tree Academy, we understand how important it is for parents to stay connected to what their child is learning and how they are spending their days – that’s why we use the Procare App to share real-time updates with you! This app allows us to share photos and updates on your child’s diaper changes/potty progress, daily activities, and moods, as well as lets you view billing statements and tuition communication.

Note: This app is compatible with Apple and Android phones.

See What Our Families Are Saying!

"My son has been attending this daycare for a few months now, and I couldn't be happier with the care he's receiving. Ms. Natalie and Ms. Maddie have been absolutely wonderful—so kind, nurturing, and attentive. They've created a warm, loving environment where my son is not only learning but truly thriving. I'm incredibly grateful for the positive impact they've had on his development."

"I am so grateful to have found this place. I was so afraid of sending my 2 year old to daycare but she loves it. Miss Shawn and Miss Nicole are AWESOME. My daughter is so excited to go to "school" and comes home so happy. This was the best thing we have done for her. The staff there are kind, they are in a safe location and they are effective communicators. I highly highly recommend."
