“The evidence is clear that high-quality, early childhood care is beneficial for children,” Dr. Jillian Roberts, a child psychologist and associate professor at the University of Victoria, told Global News.
Our teachers have many years of educational and practical experience, and as part of our practice, they receive professional development training every year. This experience and continued education help them provide their classrooms with the best possible tools and skills to nurture the children in their care. Our infant program includes, but is not limited to:
- Sensory play
- Music, art, and reading
- Outdoor exploration
- Large motor activities for early movers
Each of our programs is based on the children’s developmental stage. Our infant room is a safe environment with multiple low shelving units where babies can develop their motor and cognitive skills. We provide space where infants can begin their journey toward physical independence, including crawling, pulling themselves up, and, eventually, walking.
Throughout the day, our caregivers sing songs, read stories, and play interactive games that encourage interactions with their little friends. These daily activities help support early language development and emotional connection with others. When they are ready for a little rest, our rooms include cozy areas where they can have some downtime.
